Douglas Fir Flooring Transformation

This project involved sanding and refinishing an existing 100-year-old hardwood floor to restore it into a smooth, flat, and enjoyable surface while preserving its original character. Due to the age and condition of the floor, multiple days were dedicated to carefully sanding and leveling the surface before any finish was applied.

The project covered approximately 600 square feet and was completed in five days from start to finish. Once sanding was complete, a clear oil-based finish with a gloss sheen was applied to enhance durability and bring out the natural beauty and depth of the wood grain.

The result is a beautifully restored historic floor that maintains its timeless character while providing a durable, refreshed surface suitable for everyday use.
